Hey people who read this blog, I know it’s been a long while since I updated but I’m back with an update into what and where I might go in my future. I’m writing about that because it is a good idea to share and look back on things I thought or wanted to do back when I was in college to maybe in the future when I’m in university. My top 3 universities are: Sunderland University, Teeside University and Leeds Art University. Sunderland is my least likely of a choice as it’s local to me and I will probably end up still living with my parents and I don’t want that even though I’m aware my parents will grow anxious I’ll not manage in a new city on my own and that my mental state can prove I can’t manage to do things on my own like I need people to remind me to eat, to sleep and to do my work; sometimes I am good at reminding myself to do these things like I’ll leave myself sticky notes or have a little saying like “if I don’t eat lunch today you’ll end up craving a massive chicken at tea and being sick”. Also my mental state has the habit of breaking my sleep patterns regularly like last week I never slept enough which is terrible for next week, so I’m excited to do a “try and not sleep” day on Monday coming. Anyways, Sunderland University isn’t my top choice because I don’t want to be local and it doesn’t seem ideal to me; I was planning on going to Sunderland college, yet the courses didn’t tier to what I wanted to learn and weren’t that great, so I don’t think the university will be that strong. My second choice is Leeds Art University, now I know a few friends who live down Leeds, but I would put it in the middle because of the variety of help they offer and the tools they offer to students, example being Wacom tablets. I also like Leeds as the town is in a social location and ideal for the music industry as I want to work in the sector. My main first choice is Teeside University as it’s well made up and the website tells me exactly what we'll learn and has support for people with issues and a ray of skills to learn. My dream job is to be a book illustrator and music illustrator, I want to do illustrations for books as I love writing my own stories and creating worlds inside my head and often I sit sometimes to tip out those ideas onto paper; music illustration is another thing I want to do because I love being a punk in the modern era, my favourite bands being Magazine, Buzzcocks, Clash and Jam, I’m also very much inspired by the post punk and new wave scene like Stranglers, The The, Echo & The Bunnymen, The Cure, Joy Division, The Smiths, Madness, Aztec Camera and many many more. Music to me is a peace treatment and helps me calm down but also feel I belong somewhere, I grew up listening to 60s/70s/80s music and told that 90s music was terrible and my parents got me a guitar when I was 6/7 I now name Susanna Pauline Marr which is a Nevada electric guitar. I sometimes draw album art for songs I love like my favourite one Blur - Advert and Libertines - Gunga Din. Anyways I just want to draw for bands I grew up admiring and them wanting me to get the favour returned and also I want to do my own books so I can establish my name, I want to write for young adults and make stories about trying to fit in or sticking out from the social norms. I know I’ve always been an outsider in life as most people know me as “Noodle” which related to my rarely brushed properly hairstyle I had 2015-2018. Also next year after college is over I’m taking a gap year out to see how the year pans out and maybe get a job or move out as I’m uncertain how my parents will be next year and I want to prove I can be independent and I am getting better mentally and hopefully I will get a boyfriend and see them become the sunshine of my life.
See you next update
